"Spy emotions" seems to suggest that the Iiappa has empathic qualities -- that it lets people observe emotions. "Spy" specifically suggests that it's not just surface emotions, but the deeper stuff that maybe even the person observed doesn't realize.
That one is trickier -- "communicated physical" is an odd combination. What if the Ialippa can convey complex physical movements using its empathic power? i.e., you touch it, and get an "I know kung fu" moment, a la the Matrix?
My initial thoughts around Event 1 is that it is something that has to deal with someone important an NPC that is known.
They saw something that is extremely rare to see, something that was beneficial to them.
